Website Case Study
Another Website Goes Live
I was delighted earlier in the year to be asked to update the website of York Wedding Industry Network. The aim was to provide a site that looked appealing to couples getting married in York, showcase the members of the Network and be simple enough for a number of the members to update. And here it is in all its glory: www.yorkweddingdeals
It was quite difficult to find an appropriate template for the site: most directory themes were aimed at highlighting retail premises or other physical locations, not appropriate for many of the WIN members as many work from home. I eventually came across Nexus themes. These are front end design themes that come in many industry specific templates. I eventually decided that the wedding planner theme would do the job.
I then worked with a fellow member of the York Wedding Industry Network, Samantha Mayfield, to develop the theme colours and the founder of the group, Nikki Bowling. The new website was to coincide with the launch of the new brochure, so the colour, style and categories had to match up to raise brand awareness.
but it also had to be flexible, so we could add new members, change categories and add events and blogs easily. Although the drag and drop theme took a bit of getting used too, it makes it really easy to get a stunning looking website without the need to code.
Hopefully the members whom I trained up also find it easy, especially as I have provided them with a personalised booklet showing, in easy steps, how to update the website.
All my website builds are built on wordpress templates and come with a step by step booklet explaining how to update your website.
